Pipe Organ Recital
May 30, 2026, 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM
Join St Luke’s Anglican Church in Toowoomba as they celebrate the completion of the long-awaited conservation of the church’s magnificent historic pipe organ — a cornerstone of our musical and cultural heritage. Built in 1907 by renowned English makers Norman & Beard and carefully conserved through community fundraising and support via the National Trust Queensland Regional Heritage Appeals, this remarkable instrument has been lovingly restored to its full splendour for future generations to enjoy.
Featuring a 60-minute recital by acclaimed organist Dr Phillip Gearing (Organist at the Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane and former St Luke’s organist), the program showcases the depth and expressive power of this treasured Edwardian organ. Whether you are a lover of heritage, music, or community spirit, this event offers a unique opportunity to hear this beautifully restored instrument resonating in its original home.
