Trust Talks: Stories in Glass & Stone – Exploring St John’s Cathedral

Join us for a fascinating afternoon at St John’s Cathedral, listed by Lonely Planet as a must-see in Brisbane, as we explore the history, artistry, and living heritage of this remarkable building.

Led by Cathedral Guide John Carr, this special Trust Talks event will uncover the stories behind the three stages of construction through the magnificent stained-glass windows. Each window is not only unique to its era but also reflects significant events and themes of the community the Cathedral continues to serve.

You’ll also discover some of the Cathedral’s exceptional artifacts, including part of the Shellal Mosaic and the Glastonbury Chair.

Following the tour, enjoy afternoon tea and meet one of the Cathedral’s own craftsmen, Jack, who continues the tradition of care and creation within this living building. From repairing the great West Doors to designing intricate mosaic floors, Jack will share insights into the craft and conservation that keep the Cathedral alive today.
